Fís Film Festival

The students of 3rd, 4th and 5th class travelled to Dublin on Wednesday 16th of November, to receive an award for film making at the Fís film festival. The event which was held in the Helix in Dublin, was run in the same way as the Oscars with films receiving nominations in different categories and each film winning an award. The children really felt like film stars. On Wednesday the film won an award for "Outstanding Achievement in Film Making for Storyboarding". It was also nominated in two other categories "Script" and "Original Storytelling". This is the first time the school reached the final and the children were delighted to bring home a plaque and a new iPad Air for their school. Many parents and family members travelled to the event along with the students and their teachers Ms Browne and Ms Mulvihill. It was a fantastic day for all involved and a sincere thanks to those who made the journey. The film "Time to Change" was made before the Summer holidays with the help of their teacher Ms Browne. The film had a valuable message about giving everyone a chance and always being kind to others.
