On behalf of Scoil Mhuire gan Smal and the Board of Management, I want to extend a heart-felt thank you to all our sponsors, businesses, clubs, and companies for their generosity and commitment in making this event so successful.
A special thank you to our 9 families who took part on the night they were fantastic, and to James Flaherty who ran the event, a true professional. We would also like to thank our fundraising committee for their hard work and dedication. Thanks also to the parents who travelled the countryside collecting the brilliant spot prizes for the raffle held on the night.
Your support is not something we take lightly and is very much appreciated by all here at Scoil Mhuire gan Smal.

This week we celebrated Catholic Schools Week and the theme for this year is ‘Care for Our Common Home’. One special part of Catholic Schools Week was Grandparents Day and we celebrated a mass with Fr.Brick on Friday morning. This was a lovely ceremony of thanks for our grandparents. We read prayers, recited a poem and sang songs. Thanks to all the family members who attended the mass and in particular the grandparents. We hope you all enjoyed the celebration as much as we did.
A Poem for Grandparents
My Grandparents are so special to me,
They teach me about all I do and see.
They don’t mind answering my questions ‘Why?’
They pick me up and carry me high.
Grandparents take the time to teach,
And let me see things above my reach.
They teach me things I need to know,
So I can learn and I can grow.
They teach me all about the past,
About our home and how time moves fast.
They teach me how to care and love,
How to thank Our Lord above!
