Scoil Mhuire gan Smál is supporting Lixnaw in the Senior Hurling Championship this Sunday. Best of Luck to the team. Students from 2nd to 6th class celebrated mass at St. Michael's well with the community on Friday 29th of September. This was a lovely occasion at such a special location in Lixnaw.

The Corpus Christi Procession is an annual tradition in Lixnaw and this year it took place on Sunday June 18th. On a beautiful morning in Lixnaw, the children of 2nd class took part in the Corpus Christi Procession through the village of Lixnaw and followed by mass at St.Michael's Church with Fr. Brick. Some of the older students were also alter serving on the day. The sun shone brightly lighting up the village and making this a beautiful occasion for everyone. Many thanks to all involved.
2nd, 3rd and 4th class have been learning about the Bumblebee and they put together a project to enter the Sherkin Island Environmental Competition. Also some students created their own individual projects on their "Favourite Animals" or "Protecting the Environment".
On Saturday May 27th, Second class received their First Holy Communion at St.Michael's Church, Lixnaw. It was a lovely celebration for the children with their families and friends. Mrs. Barry and Ms. Browne helped the children to prepare for this special day and helped the children to create lovely artworks to decorate the church. Thank you to Ms.McElligott for preparing the choir and Mrs.Hillard for preparing the musicians. Thanks also to Ms.Mulvihill for helping on the day. It was a fantastic celebration.
On Wednesday the 24th of May, the whole school enjoyed an action packed day at Active Kingdom, Tralee. The children were involved in various fun and challenging physical activities throughout the day. Some of the activities included an obstacle course, orienteering and team games including a sack race. The children also tried out some of the inflatable challenges available at active kingdom such as the "Wipeout red balls" challenge which many of the students said was one of the highlights of their day. It was a very enjoyable school tour.
