Scoil Mhuire gan Smál will remain closed on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of March, 2018 as directed by the DES. Storm Emma is expected to bring snow and blizzard like conditions to the country over the next two days. Stay safe and stay warm. The school will reopen on Monday March 5th, 2018.
This week, we welcomed Brendan Fuller from Radio Kerry's Afternoon Show to Scoil Mhuire gan Smál.
He interviewed lots of the children about their favourite subject and their favourite aspect of school life.

Best of luck to the students representing Scoil Mhuire gan Smál at the Credit Union Schools Quiz in Causeway today. Here is a photograph of some of the team members, also present on the day were Aoibheann and Kaitlynn.

The children of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál have been busy preparing for the Christmas Eve Mass. Each year this mass is a very special occasion for the children, their families and all of the community. We look forward to seeing you all on Christmas Eve. Thanks to Everyone who helped to organise this event and prepare the children for the night.
Santa and friends paid a visit to our school before the Christmas Holidays. Thanks to everyone involved in organising this event.
The whole school took part in the Burpee Challenge last week which was organised by Ms. O'Connor. The challenge was organised to raise money for Mental Health Awareness. We are delighted to announce that 3rd, 4th and 5th class were successful in the Sherkin Island Competition this year. Their project based on "The Bees" which was completed before the Summer won a fantastic prize. We received a collection of nature books which we look forward to reading and using in school.
